We’ve had the most wonderful Christmas break!
The weather has been unusually warm (like in the 50s!) and we kicked things off by walking around outside last weekend.
And having brunch at Floor 2!
Oh and also going to the milkshake factory…
We took a drive to see the lights at 7 springs. They are (unfortunately!) abysmal and look like they haven’t been touched in five years, so not much is lit. but I did find this funny tree.
We built (more!) gingerbread houses. This is Max’s favorite thing to do.
And we baked more cookies too. Mostly for Santa.
This is my salted dark chocolate chunk (but chips!) cookie recipe, btw.
I oogled over my mom’s tree before the holiday. I want to do my tree like hers next year. It’s always UNREAL.
Max loved singing on Christmas Eve the most.
It was crazy foggy! Brought a whole new meaning to… then one foggy Christmas eve…
This was our only okay attempt at a family picture. It is impossible to get one these days with the wild babes.
Look at this crab/shrimp app my uncle made!
It was delish.
Emilia stole the show.
And you can see that my aunt does her tree like my mom too. It takes them a loooong time.
MY BABIES!
This was on Christmas morning before they even saw any presents. They were listening to Santa’s letter.
And double shots of espresso were necessary.
I made cinnamon rolls, which is such a joke since we end up eating two big meals on Christmas day. We go to both sides and have a huge lunch and an equally huge dinner. But I can’t neglect the idea of a cozy breakfast on Christmas morning.
It was absolutely the best day ever. The kids are at such a wonderful age.
Here is my mom’s tree that night! INSANE!!
I also love this mantel in her family room. Next year I should do a tour of her Christmas decor!
My parents got the kids this mini baby grand piano. (Luckily? haha) it hasn’t made it’s way to our house yet.
For years, we’ve always gone to Nordstrom the day after Christmas! Eddie likes to stock up on things from the men’s sale for work. We’ve done this tradition for so long and we love it, but we may not do it again until the kids are older. We did get the ricotta jam jar at Nordstrom cafe though!! I have to say that my version… just might be better.
This is one of my favorite pictures ever. It’s just a random snap at the kids’ well check, but I love how they are both sitting similarly and focused on coloring. I want to frame it!
p.s. don’t worry, they rarely set this like and often run around like complete lunatics.
I made my deviled crab dip on Friday and you should def make it for NYE! It’s so light and rich at the same time. I saved it to my instagram highlights.
This week is going to be the most fun, because Lacy is getting married on NYE!
OMG. I can hardly wait!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful week or two. Tell me something good!
