Oooh it’s the most wonderful time! My 2019 holiday baking list is here!
I love sharing this every year. So much! And it’s so fun to hear from you and what you’re baking, the traditions your family has and what you make year after year.
If you’ve been following along here on the blog, you probably remember that every year I would bake with Mother Lovett and it was amazing – even more so now, thinking about it years later. Those moments meant so much to me and they are one of the reasons I love to bake during the holidays. Which is huge, because I honestly don’t LOVE to bake in general!
So I’ll let you in on a little secret: we already started baking this year! We baked for a few reasons. First, I wanted to get some photos for this post. Second, Lacy’s wedding is rapidly approaching and if you’ve ever been to a wedding in Pittsburgh, you know there is a giant cookie table. So we got a head start, packaged them up incredibly well and will pull them out on NYE!
Every year, Lacy and I make a buche de noel. This bon appetit one is the best. I’m honestly not sure if we will this year because we will be having fun with wedding festivities. But we also ALWAYS make Tracy’s citrus peels and amaretto. Seriously we have made these things since the year she posted them, so… a really long time. It’s so fun. Finally, we also make my version of whiskey pretzels!
Oh oh oh and don’t forget my favorite baking playlist! Put it on repeat.

finally, these perfect cut out sugar cookies. these are the BEST foolproof, simple sugar cookies. i use either cream cheese frosting or this dip icing technique (marbled or not!). For the ones above in the photos, I actually sprayed them with edible glitter.
